Years ago, I started feeding goldfinch in this feeder I made from a mayonnaise jar. The feeder was not too effective because goldfinch seem to enjoy pecking their thistle seed from small holes. Nevertheless, I was impressed by their ability to assume odd positions- much like the acrobatic feats of a chickadee. The coneflowers were from my garden.
